Cissus Quadrangularis - 100 Capsules 330mg

Cissus quadrangularis has been used as a medicinal plant since antiquity. Cissus has been used in various classical Ayurvedic medicines to heal broken bones and injured ligaments and tendons. In siddha medicine it is considered a tonic and analgesic, and is believed to help heal broken bones, hence its name asthisamharaka (which prevents the destruction of bones). The Assamese people and the Garo tribe of Meghalaya and Bangladesh have used Cissus quadrangularis for bone fractures.

Cissus quadrangularis extract contains natural plant steroids, ketosterones, which accelerate bone healing by acting as glucocorticoid antagonists. They also counteract the anti-anabolic effects of cortisone in the treatment of fractures.

Also used in the treatment of pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids, Cissus quadrangularis has great antioxidant activity and neutralizes free radicals in different systems, which may explain its effectiveness on damaged tissues. It inhibits lipid peroxidation and free radicals, and stimulates the activity of endogenous antioxidant enzymes.

Gastro-protective effect: traditional medicine uses it to treat gastric disorders

Reduces the size of ulcer craters and restores mucosal epithelium

In several studies on obese or overweight subjects, Cissus quadrangularis extract induced significant weight reductions.

The supplementation-induced increase in creatine and 5-HTP levels indicates that Cissus quadrangularis appears to act through a mechanism of appetite control and by promoting increased muscle mass.

Supplementation also lowered total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and fasting blood sugar, thereby improving cardiovascular risk factors.

Its bactericidal effects on Helicobacter pylori indicate potential use for the treatment of gastric ulcers in conjunction with NSAID therapy.

Enzymatic study and in vitro cell culture show the potential anti-inflammatory and inhibitory properties of "cissus quadrangularis"
